It was a rough day for me, and my mind was overloaded. I went for a walk to clear my mind. Plugged in my earphones, and I was trucking. Walking…huffing…puffing….releasing the weight…letting Sade sing to me about Paradise. Feels right. Walking…huffing…puffing…feeling the tensions leave my temple as I allowed the sounds of city vibes to fade in the distance. I entered a park, full of beautiful, tall, lush trees. They looked as if they each struck a unique pose. I felt my trucking, huff and puff stride surrender to a natural strut, as if my spine had aligned with the cosmos or something. Something like a catwalk. I stumbled a little, uttered and expletive. A strong gust of wind blew, and a branch smacked me on the forehead. Mother Nature cleared her throat. Oh, I’m on sacred ground. I sat at her foot, pressed my back against the trunk. Felt Her shade overhead, the breeze of Her comfort. I drew in a deep, cleansing breath. “Thank you,” I whispered.

-an excerpt from my psychic diary

It may seem bizarre to those yet to understand, but a relationship with nature is essential to mental and spiritual well being. What better place to start than with a tree? They provide the air we breathe, the paper all is printed on (including money), the wood for out homes and fires, and the list goes on and on. Why not give a tree a hug? The very laughter you feel at such a thought could be just the endorphins you need to release stress. The barks of many types of trees carry vast medicinal properties, and make great random aromatherapy scents. The spontenaiety will bring a quick zest to your day that can be instantly refreshing. Embracing the tree connects you to Mother Nature’s built- in calming effect. Others like to climb them, sit near them, or at the root. If you have time, read a good book in the company of a tree. Having a bad day or wish to increase your positive vibration? Meet, greet, and/or hug a tree! It is free therapy from Mother Nature!
