The smoking of anything is an invoking of a spirit, whether it is incense, cigarettes, fine cigars, vapors, herbs burned in ritual, or the all holy peace pipe. The term “smoke and mirrors” suggests that smoke clouds are mirrors that reflect the soul. Cannabis, or marijuana, is a powerful and sacred herb with lots of physical and spiritual healing properties. It was and still is a worshipful herb, to even call it a drug is insulting. Before it was degraded to an illegal street drug, it was used in prayers, rituals of worship, and shamanic meditations. Its majic invokes a lovely spirit of calm when used in small amounts… in moderation. It increases meditative states, and releases positive endorphins, most often released in laughter! Other magical properties include attracting love, protecting harvest, and peaceful business and political negotiations. It fights cancer, regulated diabetes, relieves depression and/or anxiety improves lung health, and a host of other positivities for the body! (animals love it too!) The blessing is believed to be increased when the herb is ‘blessed’ before partaken (as anything should be before it enters your temple…). Cannabis has deep historical roots in every ancient civilization for its spiritual, physical healing, and magical properties. Since there is nothing new under the sun, perhaps cannabis is just what the world needs in this moment-a world wide peace pipe.
