Translate. Diary. Today is Sunday, February 13th, 2022, 53 days into winter solstice.
We’re in the third decan of Aquarius season, sub ruled in Gemini. Saturn, Uranus, and Mercury are at play with a moon waxing in Cancer. The Moon is waxing in Cancer, and the day vibrates on a 3. Iba se’ Esu Odara.
It was a beautiful day of the Sun, the divinley timed space to rest, reflect, and recharge. All planets orbit around it to restore, so I take my rest in joy. I was very exited, as tonight was the first of 7 Orisa interview series, celebrating 222.9 The Mothership’s 1 year on the airwaves! Tonight, we celebrate the essence of the king of the orisas, Obatala. The celebration came by way of a live interview with Chief Oluwo Obafemi, an Obatala Priest and founder of O.I.D.S.I, or Obafemi Institute for the Divine Universal Study of Ifa. Kikan mase! I felt an immense gratitude that he took the time to share this wisdom, and celebrate this milestone with me.
There was a “the last shall be first” energy at play, as Sunday is the last day of the week, yet Obatala and the Gospel came first. It was a much needed dialogue about the correlations between Yeshua Christos (Jesus Christ) and Obatala, common misconceptions of Obatala, and the conversion from Christianity to Ifa Orisa. I learned that “Christ” is a title not a name, and that disciples are awos. I was reminded of the difference between speaking directly to the spirit and speaking in parables…that all rulers needed priests and priestesses. We spoke of the feminine essence of Ifa Orisa tradition, and Obatala’s androgyny. We discussed the good news of gospel music, and why Obatala’s essence rules Sunday’s music rotation. I would speak more, but I’d rather allow you to experience it, as well as Sunday’s gospel and smooth jazz groove. Beam up!

P.S. This interview is packed with lots of great information, but does have an echo. A second interview is scheduled to air soon at a later date, but for those of you who love things in their organic imperfection, enjoy!
