letters and numbers
power. Simple but defined
rolling off our tongues.
-an iiiYansa J. Muse haiku
The word “spell” is one with a forked tongue. Its initial meaning is the forming of letters to form words. Little do many know that each letter of the standard alphabet (and many others) holds a numerical property, as well as a spiritual charge. This theory is behind many spiritual teachings that touch on the power of the tongue, and how we must be mindful of our words. We uses phrases like “speak it into existence…” with a certain knowing of the power of our words. Words become flesh on more levels than we may realize.
The other meaning of spell defines the practice of occult arts with positive or negative intentions. Interestingly, spell work defined by this term still vibrates heavily on the use of words, chants, and incantations. In this truth, the first and second definition of “spell” go hand in hand. As we do deeper into the vastness of our awakening, we can receive more value from the use of the letters that form words. The use of them either build or destroy our structure. Let’s speak to and about ourselves, our Universe, and one another kindly, shall we?
