On Moonday, February 22, 2021, 17 years of radio, 8 years of divination, and 4 years of Orisa Priestesshood came full circle, and 222.9 The Mothership was born. It is dedicated to your spiritual healing and planetary alignment while preserving the genius of classic black music. The radio station’s theme was inspired by the song, “Mothership Connection,” by the Parliament.
The Rising Bembe airs 7 days a week from 7 am to 9 am, Central Standard Time. It features Orisa Music dedicated to the Orisa’s ruling day of the week. For Wednesday, that venerated Orisa is Oya, the fierce warrior goddess who rules, the storms, the cemeteries, and the marketplace. She who is the mysterious shapeshifter and the gatekeeper of the ancestors. To gatekeep the cemetery is to preserve the wisdom of the ancestors. She is a powerful force to be reckoned with. Today, we focus on the whispers of the quasars, and the ancestors are the first ring in our cosmic orbit, as said by Baba Ifalade. You will also hear whispers of Nana Buruku and Ayao. Why not venerate Her to start not only your Wednesday, but your entire week in sync with the planets and Orisa? Beam up for the experience!
