Pataki: Oni Mi Ojo Riru, Belu Ogbon, Odun Egbawa Mejelelogun. Mokandilaagorin awon ojo Igba Ooru. Translate: Diary. Today is Windsday, November 30th 2022, 69 days into Autumn Equinox.

The day vibrated on an 11/2, a day of mastery, and mastery would definitely take place on this night. It was two days away from the 2022 Boss Honors Awards, and I was given the honor and the privilege of crowning a Queen Mother on the way to receiving my own award. My adrenaline was already on turbo, my spirit in a place of joy and gratitude. Man and tribe trouble tried it, but I took a sledgehammer to that immediately…shattered it like glass, ground the glass into sand, and swept the dust out the door…back to Mothershipping.

The clock just struck 12am. Iba Se Oya! 222.9 The Mothership went into The Zone, third eye chakra edition. Miles Davis’s “Bitches Brew” filled the room. The moon was at Her highest, waxing first quarter in Pisces. That other thing took over…that insanely creative thing. Tonight, I had some energies to transform into greatness. The lights were dim, and my living room was engulfed in a Nag Champa incense cloud. Red silks and multicolored fabrics covered my floor. The multicolored fabric was from Mama Joyce’s dress, in bold floral print. I took a seat on my creation mat, took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and let the image of the crown take its own snapshot. I opened my eyes…and went in. My intuitive hands took over, and I surrendered for 7 hours straight. I rested some at dawn, slept a few hours, rose up, and pounced on the creation again. Cowries, felt, jewels, feathers. I pricked my fingers many times on the pins, broke a few needles on the stitches. It was worth it though. It glowed in my hands when I finished.

This crown was headed to New Orleans, Louisiana for a Queen of the Baby Dolls, Mama Jocelyn. Now for those that may not know, The Baby Dolls are a vital part of New Orleans, and thus American tradition and history. Queen Mama Joyce noticed the first crown I forged for Oya at the 2021 Caravan to the Ancestors, and commissioned me for hers! This would be the second crown I forged, and it, like my first one, had Oya ALL OVER IT! It was forged on Her day, in Her fabric, and the red silks I mentioned venerated Her husband, Sango! I am truly honored to crown a such a loving woman, and a preserver of culture and tradition!

I wonder… who will I crown next?
