This is a more recent poem, that I used to advertise my Windsdaily Poetry Show, “The iiiYansaje T. Muse Poetry Hour.” It is a simple truth of mine…You see, I have been writing poetry since 7th grade. I never shared my own poetry until 2004. It was the first glimpse into my own soul, and an escape from realities that I found troubling. Now you know. When it comes to creative skills and talents, poetry was my very first love. Enjoy the poem!
Before Sight, Before Shells
There were stanzas of my soliloquy.
Before Wisdom, Before Worship
There was only…my written word.
Afose. (AH-FOH-SHAY)
Before Divination, Before Dafa
There were diaries in dozens
Before Revelation, Before Reason,
There were my rhapsodomancies of rhyme.
Rearranged the rhythms
of my lipstick kissed alchemy
my depth
my visions
my empathy
my testimony
my joys
my sorrows
my secrets
my joys
and my love.
Before Awakening, Before Airwaves
Before Anointing
there were…archives of my allegory.
Before Clarity, Before Conversion in clergy call,
there were…collections of my ink prints.
Before Prophecy, Before Priestesshood,
There was poetry.
There was…me.
