East to Hatch

Sunrise to start from scratch

living shedding, rejuvenation

with all of the colors to match.

-an iiiYansa J. Muse short poem

Pataki. Oni Mi Ojo Aiku Igbe Mokanlelogun, Odun Egbawa Mokandinlogun, Ogbon Awon Ojo Igba Efere. (Translation: Diary. Today is Sunday, April 21, 2019, 30 days into Spring Equinox.) I am bringing my healing stones in from charging under the rare Pink Blue Moon, meditating on the spiritual rebirthing for Easter. Many of my healing stones are in the shape of eggs…I am sure to give them special treatment.

On the surface of things, Easter is a popular holiday in Pagan and Christian faiths that celebrates the resurrection of a crucified Savior, Yeshua Christos. It is prepped by other religious observations, such as Lent, and the Passover. Under the surface, Easter has many spiritual and mystic meanings. This year, Easter came after a major rare moon in the quasars, bringing an end to Aries season, and beginning Taurus season. The moon was waning in Sagittarius, beckoning us to send away all that keeps us from aiming high, and rebirth yourself in your new essence, minus the doubts. I recall my days as a deacons daughter ( I know right?) when our church would hold many Easter celebrations to celebrate the resurrection of Yeshua Christos, followed by an Easter Egg hunt. I remember the vast assortment of eggs, year after year; chocolate eggs, peanut butter stuffed (I loved those), dyeing eggs,  the plastic ones filled with candy and money, giant ones, tiny ones, just eggs, eggs, eggs! However, I never had too much fun with the eggs to ask myself, “What do eggs have to do with Easter?” The answer to this question would spend years unfolding itself while on my mystic journey…
For many faiths, Easter brings about sensual rites with intents to rebirth and resurrect the land. Eggs may be small, but they hold a lot of power…just ask any woman! They hold, weild, and hatch life from its fragile shell. Eggs are the symbols of fertility, abundance, and unlimited possibilities. They also hold and carry a lot of energy, as we were all once inside of one. Once born of the mother, the life of a child becomes a journey of endless variables, doesn’t it? The correlation is directly celebrated in the various colors of the Easter egg, and the prizes inside! Because Easter comes in Spring Equinox, the Easter egg in its beautiful colors represents your rebirth, along with the Great Mother Earth! That was what I meditated on when I ate them, even as a child. Egg cleansing and readings are very popular in folk magic and other ritual-based faiths, and Easter couldn’t be a better time to do them.  I greatly enjoy the revelations that come from doing egg readings, and I see why they are such a significant staple in rebirth and resurrection rites. Also, in today’s New Age, healing stone eggs are becoming more widely used to keep spiritual energies balanced, aligned, and charged for manifestation. So when you get the chance, take the time to choose a couple of healing stone eggs to have in your space to keep your rebirthing essence in constant motion! In connecting eggs to resurrection. Easter calls us to rebirth our higher states of being. Keep the tradition year round!
